What was the purpose of the meeting that took place between President Donald Trump and Kanye West? Besides national entertainment. Trump wouldn’t invite a REAL African American Intellectual to the White House to discuss important topics to the Black community. Instead, our president is wasting time with the “bad choice to speak for Black folks” Kanye West. The man is mentally disturbed and no longer hiding the fact he is CRAZY. Kanye has shown us in the pass he wasn’t doing well so it’s no surprise we get to sit in our homes and watch this poor sick guy’s intellectual distortion and mad man rantings on full display. Brother Kanye please take your medicine and stay out of the white house. You look like a fool and trying to include the rest of us Black folks in your vaudeville black face farce of love and admiration for the president. Well brother, I’m sad to think that you have no love for your people.
After all, wasn’t you who said, “(president) Bush don’t like Black people.” on National televised Katrina Hurricane Fundraiser as we witnessed Blacks dying in the dome stadium. You became our hero then but we don’t know who you are now. I’m disappointed that you would have put on the hat of “Making American Great Again” as a Trump supporter and bathe Trump in one glowing complement after another. Brother, when you compared Trump to a father figure because your own father wasn’t around was waayyy too much! Over the top …

White People Love Tiger
I just can’t believe the love white folks have for Tiger Woods. Some Black folks don’t feel that way after he denied being Black. When asked by a white co-worker why don’t I like Tiger, I told him that Tiger denied being Black with some vague bull shit. He defended Tiger by saying he was giving honor to his mother’s roots. There you have it, the day a white man decided being 50% Black meant nothing more than being mixed with Asian based on liking the guy. And whites do love Tiger.
Poor Tiger’s career has been in the toilet since his fall from grace. Remember the stripper scandal and his wife hitting him with a golf club and then she left him. He paid dearly for those indiscretions. He had to go to sex therapy , divorce, 4 back surgeries and undesirable ranking numbers. There are times when you watch someone going through one thing after another and you realize God is working on him.
But today he is a hero again. Yes, the self-described “Cablinasian” (Caucasian, black, (American) Indian and Asian) won the Tour Championship September 24, 2018 to large cheering crowd. Now, Tiger is ranked 13.
Even-though Tiger doesn’t identify with my Black community as a member I still wish the brotha much success and congratulations on the win.

And as I watch and listen to so many of us Celebrate the Demise of Bill Cosby, I Am Saddened. His actions of course Were Wrong.
Quiet as it’s kept, so many men in power did the same thing. As a Society We Accepted It.
Now so many are focusing on his sickness for it is a Sickness that Has Long Flourished in many forms throughout the United States and other parts of the World throughout Time.
I have in my life learned to forgive horrible things that happened to me at a young age and to know that no matter what happens, we all get to heal, grow and prosper.
In this Time of Duality…
I pray that we all remember our frailty, our failures and mistakes.
And in doing so, Remember the generous Dr. Bill Cosby who has helped so many achieve their goals and contributed financially when few others would.

One thing I can say about corporate America, this entity is the epitome of what America should be or we want it to be. Large corporations hold up the legislative rules in our society. Corporate America says you should NOT do the following:
- No matter what, you cannot say the N-word. And, you can’t hold plantation style weddings with Black slaves.
- You can’t ”ruthie” a girl and take advantage of her sexually. It’s against the law.
- You can’t divorce your wife and marry your 18 year old step-daughter. But, you will still be able to make movies, depending if you are Woody Allen.
- Do not take sexual advantage of a fellow employee with threats of career retribution.
Rich white men, you can’t be a pig about your wants and desires just because you know how to bully a deal, by the way that’s why you are famous and rich, or just plain powerful and rich. I can’t believe the white men who have tumbled. Even my own white man, Matt Lauer. $25 million dollar man. Dang I suspected Matt when it was rumored about a love child with a co-host. Where there is smoke there’s fire. Or, what is done in the dark will come to light. More motherly sayings.
This all started with Billy Bush and the conversation he had with the presidential candidate, Donald Trump. I love the statement …. Grab ‘em by the pussy. Sexual harassment has become a national reckoning effecting rich white men in various sectors of our society. Here are a few who have fallen.

Racism Alive, Well, Thriving
Racism is alive, well, and living in America. You can find it in all aspects of Black living. From the chain grocery stores that operate a little different, the cigarette bill boards and liquor bill boards in Black neighborhoods. Encouraging unhealthy habits, even when you feel you have achieved a better quality of life than your parents there are those moments when you have to remind yourself racism been there all along hiding in the hearts of some white folks. The work place is another place Blacks encounter racism.
I worked in the IT department and manned help desk calls. One time, I got a call from a user who was at the executive level , he locked himself out of his computer. So, he gave me his passwords to his computer and email. After using the password s ,I fixed his problems and h was the typical grateful user. But, I felt uneasy and had to go wash my hands. The hand washing was more than let’s be germ free. I felt some kind a way about those passwords. Even in retirement, I wonder what kind of man I worked with when I thought I knew him.
Bigger question why do I still have these passwords?
DNA Diaries
In June 2016, I was in the final planning stages for our bi-annual family reunion under my leadership and in my town. While working in Family Tree Maker software, I noticed an email icon indicating I have a message. I didn’t use the software for email. At first sight the email was in a strange place. This was not just any email but an email that would change who I think I am. I won’t use real names so those who prefer to remain anonymous can do so. You see I was putting the finishing touches on the Brown Family Tree for the reunion that was in a matter of weeks. Suddenly, I see an envelope email icon out of the corner of my eye so I clicked and now I am no longer in Family Tree Maker software but in AncestryDNA. I read the email:

I looked at my DNA matches and she is listed under first cousin. I’m flabbergasted! All my first cousins are like siblings except my Uncle James’ daughter Annie. Family story goes we had a first cousin in Florida, Uncle James’ daughter. His wife killed him and went to prison and all contact was severed but there his 3 year old little girl somewhere in Florida. Fortunately, the release of more public documents over the years made it possible for me to find her. My aunt talks to Annie and keeps up with her now. I became a member of AncestryDNA in 2014 and only had 4th cousins.
Now, I have a first cousin and I don’t know how I am related to her but after the reunion it will be my one mission to discover what this means to me. How is Chloe my 1st cousin? That would mean our parents are siblings but I know it’s not possible on my mother’s side. Now, my dad was another matter. I didn’t have a relationship with him but my mother told me about him when I would ask. I reached out to him at 25 years old with a negative response so that ended that. My father had 8 sisters and 1 brother. I’m close with my dad’s sister, Lucille who still lives in the family home. Unfortunately my dad is dead as well as my mother. Who is this new first cousin?
So begins my journey searching for answers and ancestors with matching DNA!
